NOTTAWASAGA MODEL RAILWAY
Details regarding the next auction will be announced in due course
In the normal course of eventgs, our auctions are held on the first Saturday in May and the last Saturday in October, at the Royal Canadian Legion, Collingwood, but because of the Covid pandemic, no auctions are scheduled in 2021 at this time. The 2022 spring auction will hopefully take place on Saturday 7th May.
This is a wonderful opportunity for all model railroaders to buy 'experienced' (i.e. used) model railway track, scenery, buildings, electronics and sometimes complete layouts ‐ in all scales ‐ plus videos, books and so on. It's a mix of everything a model railroader will need, and with fewer and fewer vendors going to model railway shows, prefering to do their business on-line, is a great source for those 'can't‐find‐it‐anywhere' or 'it's‐no‐longer‐available' items.
It's an excellent opportunity for non-model-railroaders to sell model railway equipment they no longer need or know what to do with. We often have estate sale items to auction, as well as large amounts of equipment from parents of children no longer interested in trains.
We open the doors for both consignments and viewing at 8:30am and the auction itself starts at 10:00am. Sellers goods go on the block on a 'first come, first served' basis, or, in other words, if the seller is at the door at 8:30am, his/her items will be some of the first to be sold.
If a seller wants to put a reserve price on a locomotive he/she can do so and we can test run it beforehand to show that it's in working order.
We also offer sandwiches, donuts, fruit pies, cookies etc. as well as coffee, tea, water and pop at reasonable prices, all served by the lovely wives, daughters and girlfriends of our members.
