NOTTAWASAGA MODEL RAILWAY
Welcome to the Nottawasaga Model Railway. We hope this web site encourages you and your family to take a closer look at the wonderful world of model railways and perhaps build one of your own. It's a hobby that will get you involved in carpentry, basic low-voltage electrical circuitry, electronics, art (for scenery) and model-making. But most importantly, it will encourage thought, imagination and innovation.
If nothing else, we certainly hope you'll come to see our layout, and those of numerous other clubs, at the public shows we attend. Bring the children or grandchildren; we're one of the few model railways you'll come across where kids are welcome to run the trains.
You may have some old model railway equipment stored in your basement or attic that's doing nothing but gathering dust. You can either sell it at one of our two annual auctions, held on the first Saturday in May and the last Saturday in October, or perhaps you'd like to donate it to the Nottawasaga Model Railway and let us find a good home for it.
Our home is at Bygone Days Heritage Village, Collingwood, Ontario, a fine example of our Canadian heritage, with 30 buildings dating from the mid-1800s. The village has an extensive collection of buggies, cutters and wagons, along with three steam engines, a steam locomotive, 24 antique tractors and many other farm implements. Work is on‐going to renovate more implements, and they will be displayed when ready.
E-mail us at email@example.com if you are interested in becoming a member of our club, have any comments or would like more information.
